Today's Sunday's Social is all about food. First things first, it might be harder for my husband to do this. Since he LOVES food!! He will actually eat anything! On his mission in Dominican Republic, he once ate his own and his companions overly garlicy (still chucks) and overly oily Spaghetti.
Now my husband is the cook in the house, I have cooked meals by myself, but normally he would help and teach me. He has had many years of experience! Thanks to my mother in-law.
Jason's deal breaker for a wife, was that she HAS to be a good cook. Whoops, guess he never had that, but I have gotten better. He still chose me instead of good food. That was a hard decision for him.
1) If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Lemon Meringue Pie!! For my 21st birthday, my ex's boyfriend's mother baked me a lemon meringue pie. It was the best gift ever!! :)
2)What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Ice Cream
I would eat mountains filled with ice cream! Jason has limited me to eat ice cream. Which is a good thing.
3) What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
Scrabbled eggs with syrup on top. May be common now, but it wasn't when I was younger.
4) What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Coconut. Including when it's in a dessert, it messes the food up.
5) What food reminds you of childhood?
Spaghetti....on every Sunday. Ever since my mother passes away when I was 4, almost 5 years old, my dad started making spaghetti every single Sunday; was the easiest. I always love how he does it,I learned from him and I also make it in the home.
6) Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it:
Baked Sweet and Sour Chicken Was the first thing that I made that was new to me, that taste really good. Including the fried rice. My mother and father in-law came over that day and were right on time with dinner. I can make some awesome baked sweet and sour chicken now. Yum!!
I love lemon meringue pie!! My husband hates meringue though so I've never gotten a chance to make it!
ReplyDeleteIf you find a mountain filled with ice cream, please let me know immediately. I'll bring the spoons.
The lemon meringue pie looks delicious! I've never actually tried to make it, but I think it may be time for me to tackle that challenge soon. And just letting you know, I'm stopping by from Sunday Social!
