First Jason and I are Entrepreneurs with a Health and Wellness Company. Every year we go to a convention that they hold in Salt Lake City, Utah on their birthday week.
I don't like to use the name very often, because people sometimes look down on it and think that it's just like any other networking company, but honestly it really isn't like any other networking company.
This Health and Wellness Company is called USANA. Back in August 1991, USANA was born! So every August everyone all around the world head to Salt Lake City to the convention.
BUT WAIT!!!
I think this year has changed my mind about everything.
My story:
It first started off when I met Jason and when I came to visit some of his family in Idaho Falls, Idaho back in January 2012. Jason introduced me to the skin care called sense. He gave me a sample, and knowing me I had pretty bad acne and NEEDED a cure. I tried it out, and of course it felt amazing on my face. Since it was only a sample and I used it up within a week, I didn't SEE the difference yet, only the feeling. I have always had dry skin, I still do ever since I've moved to Idaho, but it's only on my feet and hands-until I put on some sense hand/body lotion until I wash it off 40 times from all the hard water we have in Idaho. When I moved to Idaho and we got the real thing and then I started to SEE the difference.
Life Changing Moment-My skin cleared up, including months before the wedding!!
Then my bones and joints are just bad, my knees have been getting worse and worse-always having to kneel down and do things, it cracks and I end up hurting myself. I don't enjoy it!
Life Changing Moment-I have seen a small difference, but I do believe in the vitamins that they have. I'm not even saying that they cure everyone. Everyone's story is different, but I do believe it helps us in the long run. Including when I am still young. To believe it or not-I am young. Even though I have thought of myself being a bit old...
Life Changing Moment-I actually catch myself talking to people in person!! I have always been nervous to talk to people face to face because of my speech and grammar. I've had that since I was younger and was made fun of by it. I still shy away, but this week I am a new person.
Being a member of the church and Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saint VS Being a member of the USANA family
Similarities:
- We are all one big happy family.
- You are a missionary.
- Dr Wentz/Scientist and creator of USANA has a vision, just like Heavenly Father/God.
- You can't do things by yourself.
- Without my husband helping me with the business, along with our attitude; then we won't go anywhere. Same goes with our companions.
- USANA is a company of Health, with not many LDS members. There are a few and know one who actually helped create the skin product and one who is very high up in the business and is VERY well known! USANA isn a different language means "True Health"
- Being a member-well that's all about religion.
Here are a few things that I have learned this week:
Which most of these goes just the same as being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint.
- Have a System/learn the system and duplicate it.
- Have a trainer and other people to be with each other.
- Being a business owner and investor is where we want to be not an employee and being self employed.
- The more no's you get, the closer you are to a yes (Same goes with missionary work)
- Have daily tasks and short term goals.
- Think differently if things aren't working.
- I love learning a lot from Elizabeth Rider and Kate Northrup about social media.
- "Live life to the fullest"-Dr Wentz.
- Essentials to Connect (A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y)
E-Edify (Need to know a bit more about the other person deeply, heart to heart)
I-Interest (Their hobbies and about their future, what they want to do)
O-Observe (Go back with the information you had received and imply it what kind of person they are)
U-Not about yoU (It's about them)
Y-Sometimes Your story (80% Them, 20% us)
Wait--Why Am I Talking?
- The Perfect Gift (Holy Ghost for being a member and Time/Health/Wealth for being an associate with USANA.
- What is MY why, why am I doing this, why do I want to succeed, WHY?!
- The difference between becoming successful and failure is YOU! You are the one making yourself successful or becoming a failure.
- You put 100% of your responsibility--Your health, your wealth, your time. It's you that's either stopping or being lazy about things, or getting yourself out there.
- When you change, it's how you look at a situation...the situation changes.
- Set your set point high-and never set it to your average 'temperature', get a bit uncomfortable.
- How to improve you-Knowledge, skills and attitude.
- The income you get, give 10% to others and 10% to yourself. (Jason and I have been doing this. 10% to our church and 10% into our savings account-one of them)
- Take #1 Goal, and take your #1 skill that you need to develop and take the skill and find 5 books of it, 3 CD's/DVD's and 1 seminar. Read for 30 mins, listen for 3 mins (about something positive)
- Step Process; Study-focus skill, extract, act, measure, and improve.
Dr. Oz even came again this year! ( I will say this, he doesn't promote the products, not any kind of products around the world, he may use them but doesn't promote them, but he sure is wonderful friends with Dr Wentz; the creator of USANA)
Before I had met Jason, I was very shy, I didn't really believe in myself. I would deny going up in front of people to give a talk. I was going to go on my mission to St. Louis, Missouri!!
But I'm not like that today, I don't hesitant to go up and give a talk, even though when I do end up giving the talk; I had written this amazing talk-not wanting to actually read it but present what I had---I miss a lot of things that I actually want to say and get nervous. But I am still getting up there and saying something. I randomly talk to people on the street now, including people with USANA. I'm not as shy as I used to be.
I have gained so much for being in this business and I know that it will continue to grow. I know that this is what my husband and I are suppose to do with our lives. It truly is what Heavenly Father wants us to do. It's a life time profession. That will benefit us with lots of free time, great wealth and wonderful health. We are all serving, and mine and Jason's current goal is to go here. It's such a blessing.
