Spiritual Thought

On Sunday, as we also do every Sunday; it was my turn to pick a conference talk.
Link below

"In order to be guided in life's journey and have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, we must have a 'hearing ear' and a 'seeing eye' both directed upward. We must act on the direction we receive. We must look up and step up. And as we do, I know we will cheer up, for God wants us to be happy"

As we put Heavenly Father first and as we always remember Him and to have faith that everything will be okay, because everything WILL be okay. 'Look up and step up' Step up to what we believe in and step up to what we know is right. Press forward to the things that we may think that we can't do. Heavenly Father knows that we can do it.

"Recently Sister Cook and I attended a women's conference in South Africa. After we listened to some inspiring messages on applying the Atonement in our lives, the stake Relief Society president invited everyone outside. We were each given a helium balloon. She explained that our balloon represented whatever burden, trial, or hardship was holding us back in our lives. On the count of three, we released out balloons, or our "burdens" As we looked up and watched our burdens float away, there was an audible "Ahhh" That simple act of releasing our balloons provided a marvelous reminder of the indescribable joy that comes from looking up and thinking of Christ"

As I read that, I thought about the time when I was in preschool, or possibly Kindergarten and we had to write a letter to someone who we knew had passed away, because after writing that letter we tied those letters onto a balloon and sent it off into the air and also looked up. Well my mom had recently passed away then, so of course I wrote her a letter. Telling her that a had missed her, loved her and other stuff that I don't remember. As I think of it now, looking up as the balloons were flying up in Heaven for my mom to read, besides Jesus; my mom is my role model, even though she's dead she still lived to the fullest. She cared for a lot of people and was always happy. She truly was an amazing mother. She has been my example to live worthy so that I could return to not only to our Heavenly Father but also to my mother. To actually see her again, for Jason to meet her!

Jason has always told me this over and over again whenever we bring up my mom, how much he is excited to meet my mother. It's such a blessing that in just a few months, Jason and I will be sealed together for time and all ETERNITY! <3 For our children to be sealed to us too. For us to be able to see my mother once again. She truly left an impact in everyone's lives that she knew. A great older sister/younger sister to one. The sweetest wife, beautiful dancer, loving mother. I only have her journals to read and to get to know her through that and just reading it as inspired me to do more, to try and follow in her footsteps. To continue what she couldn't do. I always look up and go and do what I need to do. I know that she's looking after me and I want to make her proud!

"Exercise our faith and look to God for help, we will not be overwhelmed with the burdens of life. We will not feel incapable of doing what we are called to do or need to do. We will be strengthened and our lives will be filled with peace and joy. We will come to realize that most of what we worry about is not eternal significance-and if it is, the Lord will help us. But we must have the faith to look up and the courage to follow His direction"

Few days ago I had sent this to Jason,
"Jason, I am so excited for our future together to take forth. I am as scared as you are, but have faith! Because I know that everything will be okay. I know that we can work through things. Honestly, you dealt with more than I have. My parents didn't raise me that well and I wish that they did. But Jason, I know that I will work my butt off to get things to where they should be, and same goes with you. But at the same time...nothing is going to get to where it should be. There's always twist and turns, but have that faith and work to where you want to be. To try and to be like Christ. That is our lifetime goal-to be like Him! I believe in you Jason. We will do just fine. It's going to be stressful. But we have each other to make each other smile at the end of the day. Maybe even laugh. I love you so much!! And I want to always work our way through out our lifes together <3"

It's one of his many favorites. I send him a text just about every evening, so that every morning when he wakes up he quickly checks his phone and reads, always makes him smile.
