Full of Spiritualness!

Another Sunday with another conference talk from the previous October General Conference.

This week was Jason's turn:

"Among the most frequently asked questions of Church leaders are, Why does a just God allow bad things to happen, especially to good people? Why are those who are righteous and in the Lord's service not immune from such tragedies?"

We may not know all the answers but as the he continues, as we continue to face tragedies with faith and confidence we also got to remember the most important principles:

"1) We have a Father in Heaven, who knows and loves us personally and understands our suffering perfectly
2) His son, Jesus Christ, is our Savior and Redeemer, whose Atonement not only provides for salvation and exaltation but also will compensate for all the unfairness of life.
3) Our Father's plan of happiness for His children includes not only premortal and mortal life but also an eternal life as well, including a great and glorious reunion with those we have lost. All wrong s will be righted, and we will see with perfect clarity and faultless perspective and understanding"

"From the limited perspective of those who do not have the knowledge, understanding or faith in the Father's plan--who look at the world only through the lens of mortality with its wars, violence, disease, and evil--this life can seem depressing, chaotic, unfair and meaningless"

Who can they look to for help, their friends and family. Which yes, that can help, even for the members of the church, but it really isn't enough. I've dealt with things that I haven't looked up to my Heavenly Father for help, I just went to my friends for that happiness. Yet friends tend to come and go, have fights, disagreements and so forth. Along with family, they are always there, but we do have our fights too and disagreements. So who can we go to for help-Heavenly Father. I know that he has helped me a lot through out the years when I turned to him for help. Including the past 6 months when I went through a break-up and started to think about going on a mission. He has helped me a lot through those times and I thank Him every day.

In this conference talk, Quentin L. Cook mentioned the sinking of the Titanic. It's a really good part of the talk, you should go ahead and read it!

*Funny thing, so as I just wrote about the Titanic, the song "My Heart Will Go On" just came on, just the piano version of it. Just made me smile!*

"However, righteousness, prayer and faithfulness will not always result in happy endings in mortality. Many will experience severe trials. When this happens, the very act of having faith and seeking priesthood blessings is approved by God. The Lord has declared, "The elders...shall be called, and shall pray for and lay their hands upon them in my name; and if they die they shall die unto me, and if they live they shall live unto me"

Going a little off topic;
Let me tell you, priesthood blessings are amazing! I remember the day before I was going to get my wisdom teeth pulled back in August/September, I had two of my guy friends give me a blessing. I was freaking out a bit, watching my friend Kelsie when she had hers out, which was only 2 or 1 of them-and it was hurting her here and there. Along with her second time and I was also there for her again. Then my other friend, Katie how she got 4 of them out-she couldn't even eat!! One of my other friends, Geoff who actually got his out just a little bit before I did and he was totally fine. Well I had a priesthood blessing, the following day I went under, which felt so great-just wanted to keep sleeping! But after awhile, I got 3 wisdom teeth pulled, I did swell up but first thing I ate-which was THAT day I ate spaghetti and then donuts, it was small pieces which only fit through my mouth.

Then a few hours later, while I was on vicodin, I went to the temple! I wasn't going to miss a week. I went and people laughed with me and I felt great. I didn't care what other people thought, that didn't know me. Because I am in the temple, I know that I was safe! As the evening came, being in the car while on vicodin did not help at all!! One of my greatest friends, Brooke helped me that evening when I was on the forge of throwing up, which I didn't. Well the next day, I was going on a date to the beach! I did not take any vicodin and still felt great.

Along with the quote in the talk, priesthood blessings are wonderful, it might not save your life; BUT IT WILL LEAVE YOU WITH COMFORT! <3

"There are many kinds of challenges. Some give us necessary experiences. Adverse results in this mortal life are not evidence of lack of faith or of an imperfection in our Father in Heaven's overall plan. The refiner's fire is real, and qualities of character and righteousness that are forged in the furnace of affliction perfect and purify us and prepare us to meet God"

Jason and I keep getting this brought up to us. First started the week when he came to visit in California for the first time and we were on a date along with Dave & Kailie. It was near the end of it, and we went to Candy lane street in Lancaster, we first drove but then Kailie and Dave wanted to walk. Well it was quite cold outside. Jason and I ended up staying in the car just talking (and man let me tell you, when Jason and I start talking with each other, it's never ending, we will always have something to say and we end up talking for hours!) Anyways so as Jason and I were in the car and Dave and Kailie were walking around to see the Christmas Lights. Jason has brought up the refiner's fire. We are all a stone in the beginning that will turn into a precious diamond in the end. Heavenly Father watches us carefully and takes us out of the fire here and there. Once we are in the fire, we get heated up; stressed and get into uncomfortable situations. None of us wants to be in a fire, but we all have to be in the fire if we want to be a beautiful diamond.

After that conference talk, we talked about the talk we just listened to. Then we got to talking about each others patriarchal blessings (which are personal blessings that are given to people and it's all based on your worthiness to our Father in Heaven) As he was reading his, a few things came to mind that he told me about and some of those things are that we know that we are meant to get sealed to one another! Oh how I can't wait till that day comes! <3 Anyways, Jason brought up this talk, which just spoke to him right from his patriarchal blessing;

"Love Her Mother"

Jason told me to remember as we were going to listen to the talk 1) That one sentence in his patriarchal blessing 2) Our little Emily GayLyn Klingler (Which will be our first daughter's name when the time comes)
Just something that all father's whoever has a daughter should read that talk! The first time listening to this, I thought about my own father and how much I love him so much! <3

There was much more into depth while Jason and I were talking, but those are just personal things. I just want to end here that I love Jason so much and I can't wait until the time comes that 1) I get to see him again 2) Get sealed to him for time and all eternity 3) To start our own family.
