Let me start on this mission call. It all started at the end of July 2011 when I decided to go on a mission. started on my papers shortly after. Now I've thought about going on a mission back in March that same year, but when I prayed about it, well there was something else out there for me. So I went on with life, enjoyed it and dated some more. My testimony has grown a lot since then. Well as I prayed about it again, it wasn't a direct answer. More like, 'Yeah, go ahead' kind of answer. So I did it, started on my papers, which took about 2 months to finish because I had to do a lot of dental work and took a lot of shots. Since I haven't gone to any of them for the past 3 years! So it was great going back again, paied for a lot of my dental work though. Got my wisdom teeth pulled too.
Including on going to the temple the same day that I got them out. I wasn't going to miss going to the temple!! I had made a promise to myself that I would go at least once a week! Since the YSA goes every Thursday evening, I go then.
As the 2 months came and passed, I finally finished with my papers. Turned them in and off they go. Took 14 days to get to my parents (I was in between moving and wasn't sure what the address would be) So 2 days later both my parents and grandma Sloan came to Palmdale to see me open my call. With a whole lot of other people. Pretty much the whole YSA Ward and a bit more.
My parents were very happy, their youngest, first and only child who will be going on a mission!!
Since not everyone could come, like my best friend Katie in San Jose and Kim who's in Utah for school. We skyped them as I opened my call.
Well I was called to serve in the Missouri St. Louis Mission. Reporting to the MTC on February 1, 2012!! Possibly wondering why I'm blogging and not on my mission. There's a lot more to the story.
